Join with the ACDems in welcoming Representatives Yin and Provenza on Wednesday, January 21st at 6pm at the Laramie Plains Civic Center Ballroom to tell them what the state should be working on and what future you want to see for Wyoming! This is the last tour date on their statewide listening tour before they head back to Cheyenne for the Budget Session that starts February 9th. Please share this post to ensure our neighbors know where to go to be heard! Bring a neighbor- bring a friend.
Join with the ACDems in showing Karlee and Mike a warm Albany County welcome. If you can show up early (5:30pm) and help setup, if you can bring a entrée and/or drinks (if you are able/not required) and if you have time, we would welcome your help to clean up after event. Thank You!

What is needed more than ever this year — whether we celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice or are just here for the eggnog — is that we pause for a moment.
Pause to reflect on the many blessings of democracy and the need to defend it.
Pause to reflect that civil discourse, not name-calling and lies, is essential for our future.
Pause to decide to treat every person with dignity, respect and with concern for their needs.
May you and yours have a joyous and safe holiday season.
Albany County Democrats stand in unison with the WDP in Condemning all Political Violence against our citizens, regardless of party affiliation, sex, race, religion or any reason the perpetrator of the violence may come up with! For the sake of our Democracy we must find a way to end this bloodshed!

On Wednesday, March 19, Representative Harriet Hageman held a town hall in Laramie.
In response, the Albany County Democrats organized a peaceful event called "Gathering for Good." The day began at the Civic Center, where volunteers gathered in the "Workshop Room" starting at 10 AM. Throughout the day, people of all ages came together to create signs and posters, share conversations, and foster a sense of community. It was a vibrant space filled with collaboration and connection.
At 4 PM, we gathered at the courthouse for a rally. The atmosphere was electric—people held signs, drivers honked in support, and there was a palpable sense of unity. From there, we walked to the Civic Center, where featured speakers addressed the crowd. Once again, the gathering was peaceful, positive, and filled with a wonderful sense of community.
We recognize the unified anger toward our U.S. Representative and President, who fuel divisiveness, ignore opposition to the Project 2025 agenda, and pit people against one another. This frustration transcends political affiliations, cultures, religions, and values — it is a shared sentiment across our community and the country.
While the Albany County Democrats organized the events leading up to the town hall, Harriet Hageman's dismissive town hall was not within our control. The last-minute location change heightened tensions among attendees, reflecting the frustration many feel toward the federal government and our representative's failure to truly listen to her constituents.
What unfolded during the meeting was unexpected and overwhelming. My eyes have been opened by the passion in the room and the deep disappointment in the current state of our nation. One thing we’ve all seen is that there’s a lot of anger and disenfranchisement right now, and we need to be heard. That should have been the headline.
For those who feel alienated by the Democratic Party right now, I hope there’s an opportunity to gather, discuss, and find solutions. Largely, we are fighting against the same issues. I extend an invitation to those who are upset and eager to make a difference: join the Albany County Democrats. Attend our meetings, unite with us, and share your values and voices. Together, we can strive to be heard as one group committed to making a difference—not only in Laramie and Albany County but statewide and nationwide. Wyoming is worth fighting for, and we deserve better than what we are currently getting.
Here for Good,
Klaus Halbsgut
Albany County Democrats Chair
